Privacy

Interrotron collects no data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Interrotron itself makes no internet connections.

Your recordings

Everything Interrotron records is stored on your iPhone, in the app's own storage, and Interrotron never uploads it. Like other app data, it is included in your iPhone's backups (iCloud Backup, or a backup to your computer). Otherwise it leaves the phone only when you share it yourself: from the app's Takes list, or with file sharing in Finder on a Mac (or the Apple Devices app on Windows). Deleting the app removes the recordings from the iPhone; copies in backups, or that you have shared, are not affected.

Permissions

Camera
To record the iPhone's cameras.
Microphone
To record the iPhone's microphones and a connected headset's, such as AirPods.
Motion & Fitness
Only to notice when AirPods are put in or taken out (the AirPods' connection events), so the AirPods microphone can join the recording. Interrotron doesn't use or keep any motion readings. Without it, AirPods put in while Interrotron is open aren't noticed until you reopen the app.

Diagnostic logs

Interrotron keeps technical logs of its last 20 sessions on the iPhone, to help track down problems: the iPhone model and iOS version, camera and recording events, the audio devices that were connected (by name, and an AirPods name can include yours), and when AirPods connected or disconnected. Each take's summary file names the audio devices too, and goes with the take when you share the whole take. Interrotron never sends any of this anywhere. Like your recordings, the logs are included in your iPhone's backups, and otherwise leave the phone only if you share them yourself.
